Top Tip for Media Essays

From Julian McDougall, Media Studies lecturer, researcher and author: "Look back at your essay and imagine someone you know who likes media, but is not a media student, is reading it. Then ask yourself, could that person have written this essay? If so, it's not good enough!" You need to be more analytical and show you understand the theory behind it.

First Essay!

Well done to the St Mary's Year 12 Media students, who have all completed excellent first analytical essays. They have embraced this subject with intelligence and enthusiasm - a fabulous start to the course!

AS Work for Week beginning Monday 20th September

Welcome to your blog, Year 12! First task is to upload your essay on 'The Children of Men'.

Next task is to take a good look at your brief for your Preliminary Task. Start to draw up a shot list and storyboard ready to do your shooting next week. Use your blog to record your ideas, and even to scan in your storyboards.
